        • use:

Worm farming is an excellent, fun & easy way to reduce your household, school or business waste. The castings and worm juice (tea) produced as a result will work wonders in your garden – converts have proclaimed that there is no better liquid fertiliser or soil conditioner than that produced by the humble earthworm.

Comes with plastic base and legs, lid and 3 stacking trays. Tap, coir bedding and instruction sheet included. Although the lighter colour helps keep the temperature stable, place the farm somewhere that avoids the afternoon sun. They can be set up on a balcony or in a laundry for apartment dwellers, under an awning outside, in a shed or in a shaded location for those with a yard. One working tray will added at a time, until you ve reached full operation.

Worms love a variety of organic waste such as: kitchen scraps, coffee grounds, paper, cardboard, teabags, dairy, eggs, eggshells, grass clippings, garden waste, vacuum cleaner dust, hair & much more.

The following food waste should be excluded from your worms diet: All citrus which is too acidic, especially pineapple which can be toxic for worms, plant seeds, cooking oil, meat, fish, dairy products, onion family plants and other acidic foods such as tomatoes. The amount of food your worms can eat will increase over time – start with small amounts and build up as your worm population grows.

          worms:

Live compost worms can be purchased through a variety of channels; support local businesses in your area by purchasing direct. Worms can often be shipped via Express post in packs of 1000 or more. 1000 is recommended for initial setup.

We love: Worms Downunder, QLD; Kookaburra Worm Farms, QLD; and Worm Tech, NSW. Worms can often be purchased at gardening centres and local organic centres such as Northey Street in Brisbane.

          end of life:

Packaging can be recycled. Cleaned farms can be recycled at end of useful life.

          dimensions:
